Table Branding Party at the Barn & May 25 Weekend - feeling left out when branding time came around this year, we decided to hold our own branding party. We invited everyone we could think of from our area and had the best branding party ever.

The Barn doesn't have any cows anymore so we decided to brand our dining room tables. 72 different brand were there. We started the night off with a big chili dinner and then set ourselves up to do some branding. We set up a branding area just outside the dining room and then we started bringing the tables out. The tables didn't kick or fuss once. The local farmers were happy to see so many different brands in one place at the same time. After two hours everyone of our dining room tables were branded. Not with just one brand but up to 12 brands per table. Next time your at the Barn check them out. Lloyd will be varnishing them over the next couple of weeks.

A special thanks to everyone who came that night. What a great way to keep the history of branding alive. A lot of farmers just tag their cows now with plastic tags so this is a great way to educate people on the old ways of branding.

We had a great Barn Dance on the Saturday night with guests from all over. The Johnstons, the Whites & Andruskis were here in the campground. Our good friends the Gibbs brought a huge group for the Dinner & Dance. What a fun night!!
