Harvest Festival '07 At The Barn
Best of the Best Cornshuckers.
What a fun weekend here at the Barn. On Friday night we had a barn full of great folks. Meier Travel was here with a nice group of seniors. Thanks for bringing them Brian. The Jacksons, the Johnsons, the Walters, the Mourns, the Neals, the Crapo Bunch, the Catherwoods, the Havensteins, the Palms, the Joussettes, the Leonces, the Striemers, the Hayes, and the Websters were all here. Thanks for coming this weekend folks.
Saturday began at 1pm with our Ice Cream Social & Music Jam. Thanks to Eddie, Auntie Rena, Charron, Rylan & Trevor for making the tunes for the Jam.
Then the games began. There were arts & crafts for the kids, the Great Canadian Quilting Club from Glenwood and Hill Spring were here instructing how to tie a quilt. They had some very nice ones framed out and they had quite a few people helping them tie. Thanks ladies for coming.
We headed outside for the gunny sack and three legged races. There were some speedy competitors. The tug of war was a lot fun too. The corn husking contest was way too much fun. Thanks to all competitors for not getting too corny and staying focussed on the husk at hand. Our scarecrow beauty pagent was really neat. Some very creative folks had some fun designing there own scarecrow. Congratulations to our winners.
Then of course, the roast beef dinner, dance lessons, hayride and the dance with the Barn Dance All Stars. What a great way to end off our regular season here at the Barn.
I think it's safe to say our 1st Annual Summer's End Harvest Festival was a complete success. So look for our 2nd Annual next year. Thanks again to everyone who attended.
